Curious by nature, Robin tested several training courses and companies before launching himself with geninc and staying for good: he is now a franchisee!

What was your background before becoming a brand ambassador?

Very diverse: I wasn’t educated or diploma-oriented. I started out as a fireman at 17. I did several studies in different fields, including work-study, but I couldn’t find what suited me, there was always something that didn’t suit me and that made me change direction. I was tempted by entrepreneurship but I was alone, I knew nothing about it and I was afraid of failing. Geninc finally contacted me via my Linkedin profile and here I am!

Your experience as a brand ambassador?

I arrived in the Lyon coworking hub in September 2019 and I started out very confident and determined to become an entrepreneur, I already had in mind to become a geninc franchisee. I managed to make sales on my first two days but the third day was a slap in the face. I wanted to go too fast on my own but it didn’t work in the long term. That’s when I realised how important it was to be well surrounded and above all, to take into account the advice of my coach.

By applying his advice, my sales took off and I became a business coach in 5 months. The lockdown due to covid happened on the day of my promotion, which was a real blow but also an opportunity to ask myself the right questions, to rework my strategy and to adapt. It was necessary because after the confinement everything took shape and I became a franchisee within a year!

Today I can say that the biggest thing I learned at geninc is the resistance to failure. I have learned to appreciate failure, embrace it and challenge myself because it is in the problems you encounter that you can find the greatest opportunities. The more you push yourself, the more you succeed in challenges, the more you are rewarded. One of my strengths has been not to wait for someone to tell me what to do, but to look for the answers myself.

What attracted you when you started?

The welcome: I’ve never been welcomed like this anywhere else.
The smiles, the music, the atmosphere, the good vibes, the energy…
I immediately felt good and at home. During my first day of observation, I was also impressed by my coach Domien, his maturity and his way of leading several people at the same time. And then I met a lot of people for one day, I talked, I had fun, I ate. I didn’t feel like I was working, I was having more fun than anything else, which is what kept me going.

My personal goal is achieved, now I want to share it with others

And that’s without counting all the opportunities you have on the side, in terms of events, meetings and travel! I had an extraordinary experience for which I am grateful today.

What will change now that you are a franchisee?

More responsibility of course, but also more freedom because I will be able to manage everything from A to Z. There will be new challenges, new things to learn to become better and better. I will continue to go into the field to pass on all my skills. My personal goal has been achieved, now I want to share it with others, to offer the same opportunity to others, to pass on what I have learned.

What is your goal? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In Switzerland! I would be proud to open a new country, to see even bigger. In 5 years, I would like to have promoted other franchises. My life may be a giant monopoly in the next few years! I would also like to invest in geninc but also in real estate. The goal is for me to have a passive income in 10 years and to be able to travel around the world, which I have been dreaming of doing for a long time, and to be able to work from anywhere, with anyone, at any time…

3 tips for a future franchisee?

  • Be aggressive about your own development and skills.
  • Surround yourself with the right people and learn from each other.
  • Think big, act like the role you want, not the one you have.
