Portrait of Maxime
At only 29 years old and after 3 years being a brand ambassador with Geninc, Maxime, a young entrepreneur from Lyon, opened his own Geninc franchise in Paris. Discover the story of this globetrotter who has chosen to develop with Geninc for a new stage in his life and career.
What was your background before becoming a brand ambassador?
I graduated with a degree in international trade. After that, I travelled a lot: first to Spain, where I worked in a company specialized in renewable energies, and a few other small jobs. After that I lived in Australia for 2 years, and spent a year travelling around Asia.
When I came back to France, I was recruited in an executive position at SNCF to manage foreign suppliers. I liked what I was doing but after a year I quit because I had a bad relationship with my direct superior. Many told me that I was crazy to leave a big company like SNCF. A week later I was contacted by Geninc.
What was your experience as a Brand Ambassador with Geninc
I remember very well my debut with Geninc. I did my interview with Faisal and was called back for an observation day. There was such a great energy and a good atmosphere that I decided to go. So we went to Saint-Etienne with Faisal for my observation day, I saw his way of doing things and I immediately liked it! That day, while I was observing, 2 doors opened at the same time, so I had to take the lead and talk to the person who had opened one of them. The person let me in for coffee while waiting for Faisal. It reinforced my idea to continue: I like the contact with people, and you can meet good people in the field.
The other Brand Ambassadors immediately reached out to me, you can immediately feel that there is a lot of mutual support and learning
I remember the shy Maxime of the first few weeks who came to the office and didn’t talk to many people. Today I have fun talking in front of 150 people.
What is your best memory with Geninc
In the field, in a town near Lyon, I met an elderly lady who reminded me a lot of my grandmother and really moved me. I spoke with her for a long time, she was a very real person, she cheered me up and told me to continue what I was doing. It feels good to meet beautiful people like that, and that’s why I like being a brand ambassador.
Be the most natural, be yourself, as a brand ambassador you are supposed to be able to represent any brand. Have fun during your day. For me, the fun I can have with the customer is essential.
What is going to change now that you are a Franchisee?
First, I’m going to leave Lyon and move to Paris, I’m changing status, I’m no longer a Brand Ambassador. I am my own boss and I open a company, it’s more responsibility. I know what I want, I know where I’m going now! That said, I still plan to continue to go out in the field, it’s the best part of what we do.
Your goals? where you see yourself in 5 years
My goal is to be successful! I’m going to Paris with 9 salesmen I’m coaching, it’s a new challenge and we plan to stay on top! In 5 years I would like to open a new coworking hub with Geninc and why not take part in the expansion to another country: Germany, Switzerland or Spain for example get me interested.
3 tips you could give to someone who wants to develop
- Don’t look at what others are doing, don’t compare yourself, the challenges are always different for different people.
- Work very hard and do things right.
- Be thirsty to learn, always looking to learn and seek information on your own.
